Jenny and Darren, Massachusetts Wedding Photography

I’m so excited to share this wedding. I traveled to Massachusetts at the end of last month to photograph Jenny and Darren’s wedding and reception. There are so many reasons that I loved this weekend. First off, the ceremony was in a beautiful, small Greek Orthodox church in a neighborhood in Ipswitch. The priest was the same man who married Jenny’s parents in the same location more than 30 years ago! The ceremony also included a guest homily from Darren’s family’s Catholic priest. How cool. So, the ceremony was a meaningful, gorgeous and unique service chock full of tradition. Loved it. Then, the wedding party traveled by trolley to Tupper Manor, a mansion on the Endicott College campus on the coast in Beverly, Massachusetts. The setting was beautiful. After the first dances, toasts and dinner, Jenny and her Greek family got the dance floor hot with traditional Greek dancing. You know I loved this. The rest of the night was a blend of Greek dancing and good old get-your-groove-on party dancing. Congratulations, Jenny and Darren. You were a delight to work with. Also, this was a super special weekend for me because I had my special little lady with me. When I booked this wedding more than a year ago, I was not yet pregnant. But, that changed! At three months old, Maevery traveled with me to the east coast. Since my husband was overseas, my incredible parents accompanied us and watched Maevery while I worked both days. They traveled to Gloucester and apparently had a great time. It felt so good to be back at work, with a camera in hand, but still have my sweet little companion nearby. She was an angel on the flight and I will never forget our first weekend in the east coast together. Thank you, mom and dad, for being the best parents and grandparents any girls could dream up. Thank you, Jenny and Darren, for trusting me to document such a special weekend. AND, thank you George Rivera, for spending the day with me as a guest photographer! You were a superb addition to the day! If any of ya’ll are looking for a photographer in the Boston area, check out George here!

FAVORITE moment of the ceremony. Chris, the bride’s brother, had the heavy task of placing the symbolic, Greek crowns on the bride and groom’s heads. The priest adjusted the crowns after Chris was finished. But, Chris was dissatisfied with the crown’s final resting place  on Darren’s hair and made another adjustment. Of course, the priest had the last say. :)

  3. [...] Right off the bat I knew it was going to be great assisting Lindsay Pierce because she gave me a huge hug as if we were long lost friends. She made me feel more like a partner instead of an assitant and that was such a great feeling. You can view her amazing photos here. [...]
