I met McKenzie on the sidelines of a high school football game in September, 2004. I’d just arrived in New Mexico the night before and was on my very first assignment as a paid photojournalist. When McKenzie, who was a reporter for the local television station at the time, approached me and introduced herself with such a gracious, positive and fun attitude, I was certain I’d found a great friend. I was absolutely right. It wasn’t long before McKenzie and I started hitting the slopes and she showed me her ways around the mountain bike trails. Since that day in 2004, Brent and McKenzie have become dear friends to Steve and me. We are thrilled to be in the same state as this incredible couple again. And I was equally thrilled when they asked me to photograph their wedding in Vail this summer. Through the past few years, I’ve gotten a glimpse of both McKenzie and Brent’s beautiful families. So, witnessing and documenting the union of two of my favorite people and their families was an honor and a joy.

We love you guys.

McKenzie’s favorite color is unquestionably the color Red:
